MassCUE 2011: Follow Up

We would like to extend a big thank you for attending our presentation at MassCUE2011.

We hope you came away with some tips you are now able to implement in your classroom or are at least giving some serious thought to what self-directed learning skills are all about and how important they can be in your life.
3 More Points:

Point 1: Our Presentation Handouts
Today, you should have received an email asking you to confirm so you could receive copies of our handouts. If you did not get the email;
1.    check your spam box [sometimes these emails creep in there], open it and confirm.
2.    or email me back and I will send you the handouts.

Point 2: Our Free Webinars
We invite you to join us for 2 free webinars where we will continue our discussion revolving around self-directed learning skills and some of the questions raised in the exit slips you so graciously provided to us.

Plan to attend either OR both webinars …each will be different and we plan to record the sessions and post them at www.sdlskills.com   We do ask that you attend 1 Test webinar [unless you have used Blackboard/Elluminate webinar software on your computer and are familiar with the webinar process].  Download this Blackboard/Elluminate Cheat Sheet which will illustrates the steps to get into our webinar.

  • All Webinar Dates:
  • Plan to attend only one of the test webinars*, it should only take about 15 minutes. Pop in, test your equipment, that’s it-you’ll be good to go.
    • Test webinar 1: Saturday, October 29 from 8-9 am OR
    • Test webinar 2: Tuesday November 1 from 5:30 to 6:15 pm
  • Attend one or both of the live webinars
    1. First live webinar: Tuesday, November 1 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm
    2. Second live webinar: Wednesday, November 9 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm

To access ALL webinars:
At the time of the webinar [not before, as you might interupt a live class], click on this link or paste this URL into your browser: https://sas.elluminate.com/m.jnlp?sid=voffice&password=M.593C9B64ADF6811EC518C7DA6FF35E

Follow the instructions as you are prompted.  Be patient, you will be asked to temporarily allow some java script to download onto your computer, go for it.  It is temporary and is part of the Blackboard/Elluminate webinar software we are using.

*We highly recommend you do your test webinar on the same computer you will be using the evening of the webinars.  You will need a microphone, so you can ‘talk’ to the group during the microphone.  [Sorry, we do not have the ability to allow you to phone into the webinar ;( ].  However, we will record them and post them here so you can listen/watch them later.

Point 3: Keep checking back for resources, ideas, tips and notices of upcoming courses and presentations.

See you at the webinars!

P.S. If you know any colleagues, friends, relatives who might be interested in self-directed learning skills, invite them along!
